Seasons Greetings,
The holiday break is a time to breathe and enjoy family and friends. Our hope at the Doctoral Support Center (DSC) is that many of you will also utilize this time to continue to write or conceptualize your research proposal and dissertation. As you embark on your holiday break, please keep in mind that the DSC will offer many opportunities for you to take advantage in the upcoming Spring semester. Please come back to our DSC Blog to learn more about our face to face and on-line presentations for the Spring.
I would also like to inform you about one of these opportunities so that you can plan ahead and mark your calendars. The Spring 2010 dissertation writing retreat known as Operation Dissertation Acceleration (ODA) will be held Thursday, March 25th to Sunday, March 28th at Villa Graziadio Executive Center in Malibu, California. The DSC designed this all inclusive residential retreat for RSOE doctoral students who want a focused and distraction-free writing environment where they can make significant progress on their dissertation over a four-day period. Please refer to the attached flyer and application for complete details and instructions.
Apply early and the first eight applicants will receive a $500.00 scholarship that lowers the costs of the dissertation writing retreat to $1000.00. This amount pays for the residential component of the retreat which is lodging, meals, and retreat logistical fees.
