I hope you are enjoying your first semester! Outlined below is information related to you at this phase of the program. Each month you will receive a similar email regarding Ed.D. Program highlights beneficial to you, which will also be posted to the DSC / Ed.D. Blog site at http://dsc-usc.typepad.com/ along with other important dates, deadlines and events.
Early Warning System:
The Early Warning Systems (EWS) will begin for all weekday courses in October. As you may recall from the orientation session, EWS allows early identification of students who can benefit from the supplemental services offered by the Rossier School of Education. The core instructors will identify students who might require assistance in hopes of improving student performance. Core instructors are asked to evaluate students in three areas: alignment of goals and program focus; student engagement; and writing ability and achievement. Students who are identified by the EWS will receive a letter notifying them in which area they need to improve and how to connect to useful resources. This process is not meant to be punitive. Rather, the EWS is a proactive measure to identify and confront problems as soon as possible.
Immunizations:
If you have not done so already, please make sure you take care of your MMR immunizations. Failure to do so will prevent you from registration in the Spring 2012 semester. MMR Documentation can be forwarded to:

Orientation Survey / FAQ
Thank you for taking the time to complete the Orientation Survey, which is very helpful to the Ed.D. Office as we begin preparing for the next incoming class. The questions/concerns you included in the survey are addressed in the attached FAQ document.
Spring Registration:
Registration for the Spring 2012 semester will begin on Monday, October 25 and January 6, 2012 is the last day to register to avoid late fees. You will receive your registration memo in the coming weeks, which provides you with detailed registration and course information. If you have any questions related to course content, syllabi, or assignments, please remember to contact your faculty member. S/he will be able to address your concerns.

If you have not done so already, please contact me if you would like me to pick-up on your behalf or pick-up your USCard at:

USC Email:
Starting October 2011, the Ed.D. Program Office will only send emails to your USC email address. Please make sure that you check your USC email frequently. If you have forwarded your email to another email account, check the webmail website to ensure you do not exceed your storage quota of 75 MB’s.
