Research Workshop! The Digital Grad Student: Multimedia & Productivity Tools for Scholarship

The USC Libraries and the Graduate and Professional Student Senate will present a workshop on helpful tools for your graduate research and productivity at USC. The session will cover a range of options for citation and bibliographic management, creating presentations, auto-scheduling email, online collaboration, and file sharing. A light lunch will be served.
Presenters will include Karen Howell (Head, Leavey Library), Katharin Peter (Social Sciences Data Librarian), and Jaclyn Selby (Academic Affairs Director, GPSS).
This is a one-hour workshop that includes the following areas:
- Citation and Bibliographic Management Tools (ie. Zotero, Refworks, Endnote)
- Productivity and Online Collaboration Tools (ie. Canned Email, Boomerang, Dropbox, RescueTime)
- Presentation Software (ie. Prezi, SimplyMap)
Specific hand-outs will be available to pick up after the workshop and you can also sign up for follow-up sessions by topic.
The workshop will also provide information on the new "I-Pad Check-Out" program (to debut this Spring) and a call for participants for the USC Libraries user study on graduate students and the library’s electronic resources.
