DSC Times to Write
This is a great opportunity to focus and get writing done!
All Rossier doctoral students are welcome to attend DSC Times to Write (also known as Weekend Writes). These events provide students with time, (virtual) space, and community to support their academic writing. There is no cost for attendance. Students should develop individual writing goals and plans to use during each Time to Write. Students can attend on their own or gather a group of peers -- writing accountability buddies are highly encouraged.
If you are interested, please go to RSVP - DSC Times to Write.
Unless specified, all sessions are scheduled from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM PT. Check-in at 11:00 AM at the DSC Zoom Meeting Room (students must RSVP to receive meeting room ID and password).

Spring 2023 Operation Dissertation Acceleration (ODA) - Thursday, March 2 - Sunday, March 5, 2023.
What's ODA?
ODA is an intensive writing retreat. It's designed for doctoral students who need/want to set aside a serious block of time to make a significant push toward the next step of their dissertation. The retreat is targeted toward students who:
Have research question(s) but have not been able to complete chapters 1, 2 and 3 (the proposal); OR
Have defended their proposal and collected data, but have not completed chapters 4 and 5.
Retreat participants will be selected and assigned to work directly with a DSC specialist on a one-on-one basis. The ratio of a specialist to students will be 1-4, students have daily writing goals and the support specialist will provide feedback on such drafts. Assigned check-in time slots will be given throughout the four days for individualized instruction and consultation via online platform, voice phone call, and/or text. Dissertation chair approval is required as students will check in daily with their dissertation chair. Strict accountability will be in place to minimize distractions and encourage productivity. Acceptance is on a first-come, first-serve basis, space is limited.
